We're not sure if you've heard, but "Eclipse" is out now. Fans all across the U.S.A were already lining up for midnight screenings on Tuesday night to be some of the first to catch the third film in the "Twilight Saga." MTV News caught up with New York City Twi-hards before the show, and we were also on hand to talk to Los Angeles fans as they streamed out of the theater.

The consensus among the West Coast Twilighters we spoke to is that David Slade's take on the vampire tale rocked.

"Best movie! It was actually the whole tent scene. Love the tent scene; it was a battle between Edward and Jacob. It was amazing! I loved it," Elisse Mendez raved to MTV News. "I would actually have to say this is one of the top films that has come out so far. 'Twilight' was good. 'New Moon' was good, but I think this was better. Jacob — this time around he was such an amazing actor."

Patrick Seitz said he had been hoping Slade would bring his prior vampire expertise to the film, and he wasn't disappointed. "I actually surprisingly liked it. I think this is the best of the bunch. I did [like the end], although I feel bad for Jacob because every time he does stuff, I know what's coming," he said. "I like the love triangle. I like the tension. I thought it was a good ending."

Morgan Jones admitted that the end made her cry. Her pal Heather Jones added, "Loved it. This one's so much better! I wish I could watch it again right now. The acting was better, the writing was better. There weren't so many long pauses. It was like it moved. It was an action film."

Fans named the long awaited tent scene and the film's conclusion as highlights. "The ending of the movie was really great," Carissa Odenberg said. "I want to see 'Breaking Dawn.' It makes you want to see the next one."

Her friend Anthony Ortiz continued, "It had a lot of action. Best movie so far of the 'Twilight Saga.' I like the details. All the detail was good. I really enjoyed it."

"It was awesome," Cary Lockwood said. "It was better than I thought it was going to be."

Angie Llorena added, "It was better than the first two combined. It got my adrenaline pumping. It was very cool, exciting."

• Full disclosure: We attended a 12:15 a.m. showing, not a midnight one. The midnight showtimes were, natch, sold out. In fact, as the premiere hour neared at our Los Angeles-area theater, four of the seven Eclipse screenings—from 12 a.m. to 12:40 a.m.—were booked.

• Vampires and wolves do not scare off boys. Not if they're out on dates with girls. The (long) lines were more than dotted with dudes. It was a strange thing, though, on the way out, we only saw women. Have no idea what happened to the guys during the movie. You don't think they could've been scared off by…

• …Lautner's never-get-old abs? Say, did we already mention those? Sorry. We're a little loopy right now. Our ears are still ringing from the applause, catcalls and lusty pleas earned by each and every toned thing on the young Mr. Lautner's torso.

• Our three favorite lines shouted at the screen, presented in ascending order as determined by how out of her gourd the Lauter-crazed woman sounded: (1) "Take that shirt off!"; (2) "That's a real man!"; and, quick, grab a glass of water, no, better make it a hose, (3) "I can't take it anymore!"

• But wait, there's more: Lautner's business, as it were, with Kristen Stewart generated at least one fist pump. It was dark, so we couldn't tell for sure, but we wouldn't be surprised if the pleased individual was one of Lautner's agents.

• We should write here that Robert Pattinson's first appearance generated squeals, too. We should write that. But it didn't.

• No, Pattinson backers didn't bring the night-out-at-Chippendales passion. With one "Oh, sh-t!" exception.

• Out of deference to the lollygaggers who have not yet seen the movie, we will say no more about the above except to say that at one heated moment a presumed Team Edward supporter forgot her courtly, old-world self, and went all Samantha Jones, exclaiming over and over and over again, "Oh, sh-t! Oh, sh-t! Oh, sh-t!" Take that, Team Jacob.

• The Victoria recast was barely noticed, if at all. There were no audible protests from Rachel Lefevre diehards. There was no applause for Bryce Dallas Howard, although given her remarkable resemblance to a mid-run Designing Women Annie Potts, trust us, we were tempted.

• There probably will be some crossover audience for Eclipse and Julia Roberts' Eat Pray Love, but this was not the night—and the latter's Oprah-vibing trailer died a quiet death, especially next to the cheers and whistles for the new Harry Potter coming attraction. (Who said wizards and wolves can't get along?)

• First two discernible words heard as the end credits rolled at 2:20 a.m.-ish: "Breaking Dawn." Guess it's back to the gym, for you, Lautner.

Eclipse Facebook Contest

It is finally June, Twihards! And as it is, we all must bask in our TwiGlory while we can until those gruling months pass until Breaking Dawn filming get's on the road! I, like many other TwiBloggers, are opening up an Eclipse contest to all the other TwiHards out there! Mine is a little different from the rest, dealing with TWO aspects us, TwiHards, love so much. Facebook and Twilight!

The concept to this month's contest over at my blog (Black Nailed Reviews) is to make a Facebook page over one of the Twilight characters in Eclipse. You can be as creative as you want with your character! The contest is first come, first served. For example, if you want to be Bella and someone has already made one and became friends with my blog's page or the Facebook Group, they're Bella. Below I've listed all the characters I'm able to come up with in Eclipse. If there is a character you want to do that I haven't listed, just tell me and I'll put it down and link you to your character's page. Here are a few other things to know as well:

What you have to do:

-Be creative as you want to be with your page
-Become friends with other contests' characters (but the one's your character would be friends with)
-You are allowed to make up to TWO Facebook pages

A New Fan Fiction

So I'm a bit of an amateur writer and I do it in my free time. So Since I was bored i decided to write a twilight fan fiction. based of a movie I saw. The Story is Called 'How Do You Fight Destiny?'. Here's a summary of it:

After his musician girlfriend, Bella, dies in an accident shortly after they had a fight, a grief-stricken Edward, living in London gets a chance to relive the day all over again, in the hope of changing the events that led up to her getting killed.

And here's a little peek:

'Really? You never tell me how you feel or talk about yourself. You don't want to meet my family. You forgot my graduation. We run into my favorite student and you act as if he has something contagious. Edward, I know you have the best intentions, but I feel like I'm a really high second priority to you. That hurts. And the worst part is . . . I'm starting to get used to it.'

'I don't understand.'

'I know. That's what kills me.'

'Bella I adore you.'

[With tears in her eyes] 'I don't want to be adored, I want to be loved. I can't. . . I can't do this anymore.'

Bella walked away from me with puffy eyes from the tears. She entered the cab and left. I watched the cab as she left standing alone in the rain. Then right before my eyes a car came swerving from around the corner and smashed into the cab. I ran as fast as I could looking into the cab . . . but it was too late.

I have to be careful about what I write here because it will be tweeted the moment TIME hits the stands. And if I say something bad about Rob Pattinson, I'm dead meat. That's the devotion the Twilight films inspire. It's certainly not how he planned it. And though I am continually impressed by the aplomb with which he handles the hysteria, I occasionally think he would take it all back if given the chance. Because essentially, Rob, 23, is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who'd rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.

So how to write about someone who seems to answer Freud's rhetorical question, What do women want? Perhaps it's just worth pointing out that it'd be fun to have a beer with him even if he weren't Edward Cullen. That we haven't seen a tenth of what he can do onscreen. And that important things, beyond the veil of Hollywood, occupy his time too — music, conversation, ideas, a sense of the absurd. Which, maybe, explains why he never gets to my e-mails. I love you, Rob! Call me!

I have a new book coming out. It's called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Well, it's more of a novella than an actual book—my version of a short story.

Actually, this has been a surprise to me, too. The reason why it's a surprise was that I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago—before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.

This story was something that I worked on off and on for a while, just for fun, in between the times I was writing or editing other Twilight novels. Later, when the concept for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide came up, I thought that might be a good place for Bree. Her story is a nice complement to Eclipse; it explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew. So I dusted it off and finished it up for placement in the Guide.

At the same time, it came in handy for the Eclipse film. Melissa (Rosenberg, the screenwriter) had a ton of questions about what exactly was going on in Seattle, how Victoria managed things, what Riley was like, etc. I let her read what I had then, and later gave the whole thing to the director, David Slade. David asked if Xavier, Bryce, and Jodelle (Riley, Victoria, and Bree) could read it as well, so all the parties involved would end up having a really strong foundation for their characters before the cameras started rolling. I was pleased that this side of the story would make it into the film and was looking forward to including it in the Guide.

(Keeping it confidential: Here is Jodelle next to the bucket of waterlogged ashes that were once the pages of her copy of the Bree manuscript.)

Then I got the news: my "short story" was nearly 200 pages long when typeset. It was too long to fit into the Guide—without ending up with a tome as heavy as the Oxford English Dictionary. My publisher approached me with the idea of releasing the Bree story on its own. One of the major benefits of this plan was that it would be out before the movie, so people would get to know Bree before they saw her in the film. That made sense to me, and we decided to go ahead with it.

There was one thing I asked for: since this story had always been an extra for me, and was meant to be released with the Guide, I wanted to be able to offer it to my fans for free. You all have bought a ton of my books, and I wanted to give you this story as a gift. My publisher was awesome and embraced this idea. We still wanted to also produce a physical book with a cool cover (see below) that you can add to your set if you like, but starting at noon on June 7th until July 5th, it will also be available online at www.breetanner.com.

One other aspect of this release is the plan to give a more important gift to people who really need it. One dollar of each book purchased in the US from the first printing will be donated to the American Red Cross for their relief efforts in Haiti and Chile and other parts of the world where people are in great need. We're going to have an option online as well, so you can choose to make a donation if you want when you read the story online. I hope you will. I think that we can really help a lot of people with this.

I really hope you all enjoy this story. I had a blast writing it. I'm glad that after all this time cooling her heels in my files, Bree finally gets her chance to shine.

Robert Pattinson: Remember Me Quickie Confirmed!

We've got some good and some bad news today for Robert Pattinson fans.

First the bad: We've unfortunately officially confirmed that Rob will not be spending too much time stateside to promote his upcoming flick Remember Me.

And now the good news...

Pattinson can't be here too long because he's all over Bel Ami, the movie he's currently filming in Europe with Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas.

"He is in every scene of [Bel Ami], so he is getting out once to go to New York for the press junket premiere and talk shows," a rep for Remember Me tells us.

Cameras reportedly began rolling on Bel Ami earlier this week in London. In this movie adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel of the same name, Pattinson plays a Parisian journalist who gains power in the city through the manipulation of some very wealthy women.

So this means Rob wont be around promoting the movie that much. That's a down to the situation. But the up is that he will be focused on Bel Ami which means and even awesomer (If that's a word) film and a happy me :]

Rob's New Project: Water for Elephants

Robert Pattinson and Sean Penn are in negotiations to star with Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants for Fox 2000. The film will be an adaptation of Sara Gruen’s 2006 bestseller of the same name about a love triangle among circus employees in Depression-era America. Pattinson would play Jacob Jankowski, an orphaned veterinary student who is put in charge of caring for the animals in a traveling circus. He falls in love with beautiful equestrian rider Marlena (Witherspoon) who is married to the troupe’s charismatic but dangerous animal trainer August (Penn).

Francis Lawrence attached to direct, and Richard LaGravenese to adapt the script. Gil Netter, Erwin Stoff and Andrew Tennenbaum are producing. Fox hasn’t confirmed Pattinson and Penn’s involvement in the project.

Sundance Review: Kristen Stewart's 'Welcome To The Rileys'

MTV reviews Kristen's new film 'Welcome to the Rileys'. I'm so pumped to see this. I know that Kirsten is an amazing actress, and i haven't seen her play a dramatic role in a while:

Kristen Stewart is utterly fearless in "Welcome to the Rileys." That's the takeaway from the film's world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday afternoon. You can quibble all you want with her portrayal of a 16-year-old runaway turned stripper and prostitute. But you cannot walk away from a viewing and say the actress doesn't fearlessly expose herself physically and emotionally, and doesn't do so with astonishing maturity and believability.

Working the lap dance rooms and seedy motels of New Orleans, Stewart's character (real name Allison, working girl name Mallory and many others) is a damaged runaway with a filthy mouth and an even filthier idea of how to make money. There is little sexy about this teen, as she's prayed on by faceless men; the camera catches every pimple, every dark circle under her eye, every strand of stringy hair that has seen far too much strip club cigarette smoke and not enough shampoo (and no, she does not once get naked). Her life is going nowhere until a plumbing supply salesman named Doug Reily (James Gandolfini) shows up and takes Allison under his wing.

Doug, too, is a runaway, fleeing a home life that has collapsed after his 15-year-old daughter's death, a trauma that has left his wife Lois (Melissa Leo) an anxiety-ridden shut-in. He cleans Allison up, refuses her sexual advances, and what develops between the two is a dysfunctional but sweet father/daughter relationship.

What to make of Gandolfini? On the one hand, his Doug presents an enrapturing mix of grizzly bear and puppy dog, a shell of a man struggling with unspeakable loss and fighting to find a reason to rise each morning. On that other hand, he tries on—and just as easily drops—a terrible southern accent, depending on the scene. The result is a frustrating hodgepodge of a performance that had so much potential to be great.

Melissa Leo, meanwhile, is nothing short of spectacular. With one expression—a shifting of the eyes, a downturn of the lips—the actress can communicate exactly what Lois is feeling, and what's more, she can make the audience empathize with her. Leo's lines are alternately funny and heartbreaking, and you root for her as such overcomes incapacitating anxiety to join Doug in New Orleans and find in Allison the daughter they once lost. It becomes clear they're all damaged, and they all need each other.

The film, no doubt, has its share of flaws, from intermittent pacing issues to frequent disruptive arguments that seem to arise from storytelling requirements rather than the relationships and developments between characters. But the script thankfully avoids the clichés and storybook ending to which lesser films might have given in.

In 'Rileys,' Twilighters will find nothing so much to be shocked by, rather than the fulfillment of a promise Stewart has been hinting at since 2002's "Panic Room": the woman is a fine, fine actress.

Rumors of “Eclipse” Screenings Are Bogus

Early this morning we started receiving frenzied tips hinting that “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” had test screened for an audience.

The rumors sounded dubious, but Gossip Cop wanted to be sure.

Our doubts were well founded.

Gossip Cop has confirmed that Summit Entertainment has not shown “Eclipse.” A source connected to the production tells us talk of a screening is “absolutely not true.”

The “testimonials” and other reports being passed among blogs today are not legitimate. No screenings have taken place, nor are the specifics about the release of a theatrical trailer accurate.

Gossip Cop will have much more information when Summit (actually) begins its “Eclipse” campaign.
